We’re currently seeking allied health host employers across NSW to support students completing the HLT33021 Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance.

No, there is no cost to participate in the program. Hosting a student is a voluntary opportunity to support learning and your industry.
Work placement is part of the student’s course requirements and is voluntary (unpaid).
Yes, students are covered by NSW Department of Education insurance once the placement is approved.
Students need to complete 120 hours of work placement across Year 11 and Year 12. Most students do about 40 hours in 3 different work places. This can be structured in a way that suits your workplace.
Placements are flexible and may be completed:

Students can assist with a range of supervised activities such as preparing treatment areas, observing consultations, supporting programs, and general administrative tasks.
Students must be supervised by a suitable staff member, but this does not need to be constant one-on-one supervision. Guidance and oversight should be available as needed.
In many cases, yes. If the placement is successful and aligns with scheduling and school requirements, we aim to support continuity where requested.
Yes, some employers choose to offer casual or part-time work outside of placement hours. This must be arranged separately from the placement and follow standard employment requirements.
You’ll be supported by UNE Partnerships, the student’s school, and a Work Placement Service Provider. We’ll assist with setup, documentation, and check-ins throughout the placement.
