Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Units of competency from training packages are gained through demonstration of skills, knowledge and competence. Given that some students may already be able to demonstrate their competency in some elements, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is available and acknowledges the skills and knowledge that have been gained through formal and informal training/learning, work experience and life experience. An RPL approach can shorten the time is takes to complete a qualification. The actual time will depend on how long it takes to collect and collate the necessary evidence and to address any gaps in skills and knowledge.

Direct Credit Transfer

UNE Partnerships recognises the qualifications and statements of attainment issued by UNE Partnerships and other Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) in accordance with relevant training package qualification packaging rules and recognition requirements. Credit is available for any unit of competency that falls within the packaging rules and currency expectations and is offered on a case-by-case basis. Where available, credit will be applied upon completion of other units in the enrolled qualification.
