CHCCCS031 – Provide individualised support
This unit teaches how to follow a personalised care plan to support individuals in a way that respects their preferences, needs, and rights. It focuses on delivering person-centred care that promotes dignity and independence.
CHCCCS038 – Facilitate the empowerment of people receiving support
Learners develop skills to support clients in making their own choices and participating in decision-making. It emphasizes promoting self-determination, confidence, and independence.
CHCCCS040 – Support independence and wellbeing
This unit covers strategies to enhance a client’s physical, social, and emotional wellbeing. It includes supporting daily living activities and encouraging participation in community life.
CHCCCS041 – Recognise healthy body systems
Students learn about the basic structure and function of the human body and how to monitor and report changes in health status. It supports safe and effective care delivery.
CHCCOM005 – Communicate and work in health or community services
This unit focuses on effective communication with clients, families, and colleagues. It includes verbal and non-verbal communication, active listening, and documentation.
CHCDIV001 – Work with diverse people
Learners explore how to work respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, including cultural, religious, and linguistic differences. It promotes inclusivity and cultural safety.
CHCLEG001 – Work legally and ethically
This unit introduces the legal and ethical responsibilities of support workers. It includes confidentiality, duty of care, and responding to ethical dilemmas.
HLTINF006 – Apply basic principles and practices of infection prevention and control
Students learn how to prevent and control infection in care settings, including hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and cleaning protocols.
HLTWHS002 – Follow safe work practices for direct client care
This unit teaches how to maintain safety for both workers and clients. It includes manual handling, hazard identification, and emergency procedures.
