What is a School Learning Hub?

A School Learning Hub is an innovative approach where experienced UNE Partnerships educators come to your school or a nearby location to run a VET in Schools course. This course is integrated into students’ normal classwork, taking place on school grounds for about three hours a week.

Our qualified educators bring all necessary equipment and materials, and we work closely with your team to ensure the program complements your existing timetable. This setup provides students with practical, industry-focused training alongside their traditional academic studies, creating well-rounded graduates ready for their next steps.

Interested in becoming a Learning Hub School?

Here are some of the requirements which will be confirmed during the onboarding process:

In-Class Hub Requirements:

Dedicated classroom teaching space available for 3 hours per week
Open area room that caters for 20-24 students
Easy access for students from other schools (if applicable)
WiFi connectivity
Teaching aids (projector/whiteboard)
Small storage area to store resources
BYOD or school-supplied laptops
Additional course-specific equipment as needed

Online Class School Hub Requirements:

Suitable classroom/computer lab for 3 hours per week
Appropriate supervision for online learning
Reliable WiFi connection
BYOD or school-supplied laptops

How to Register Students for the VET in Schools Program

There are two ways a school can offer our VET in Schools course:

Become a Learning Hub School:

Your school needs to be able to accommodate a minimum of 20 students. These students can either be all from your own school or made up from other schools within your region.

The course will be delivered during dedicated class sessions agreed in partnership with you.

Or Join an Existing Learning Hub School:

Students can apply to enrol in a course offered by an existing Learning Hub School. Check out the locations of our existing Learning Hub Schools.
